So I have fully envisioned what I want baby Jack's little space to look like, but I have yet to put those thoughts into action. Well, I suppose that's not entirely true! I have the materials to make a chalkboard frame, and I have started working on my mobile project by cutting out the circles, and my printables are all ready to go. I just need to find frames for them! And I have a few more things I would like to do, but they involve purchasing items at the store, and the husband hasn't set me free yet to run errands on my own, and let's be honest, I'd rather not drag him along unless I absolutely have to!
Things to purchase - frames for above babies crib for printables, little white shelves for books, flowers, etc, three baskets for storage on shelf above babies crib, items to finish my mobile, and fabric for mini crib sheets so my wonderful friends can get started on those!
All that to say...I think I am most excited about my little printables! HUGE thank you to Maggie for designing them and for putting up with me. These are NOT the ones she designed, but this is what I sent her to give her some ideas, and I suppose from these you will get the general idea. Our colors for the babies little room are grey, white and yellow. So she did the design on the left with a gray background and the text is a different color. The I'll love you forever design is nearly identical to the one Maggie designed. And the final one - I love you to the moon and back is a combination of the two. She used the one on the right - the yellow, gray and white one as the main template and added an owl to it! It is SO cute! And I am realizing that I definitely have an owl fetish.
Anyhow, I promise to take photos of his little room as things move along and as I get things hung up in there. Right now, we have the crib and it fits perfectly, and he has a gigantic mattress to sleep on. The crib came with a really thin mattress so I ordered a fancy one as a replacement, and let's just say it's rather deluxe and half the price of the actual crib, which is crazy I know, but I'm hoping it's worth it. I have things all organized in baskets and things and I keep emptying my own items out of the hutch to make extra room for baby items.
I ordered a few cloth diapers to get him started on his diaper stash, but I can promise you I will be putting him in disposables for at least a month or longer once we get him home. Those cloth diapers are going to be WAY too big on him for quite some time, so disposables it is! Plus, I only have 2 cloth diapers - so I can't imagine they are going to get me all that far in the diaper department. I still need some silly items like changing pads, a mirror for the car, diapers, a diaper bag, a baby carrier, an activity gym, an umbrella stroller, etc. I think we have the main essentials - makes me laugh because baby has been out of the womb for 1.5 weeks and we are still piecing things together! And I'm sure once baby Jack makes his way home, we will still have pieces to pull together. And I'm okay with that!
Here's to Jack's cute little space - I'll get photos as soon as things come together!
Much Love,
Malia
