It's the Little Things.

So my little buddy post is going to have to wait a few days as we are in the process of redoing our bathroom, and it feels like we are remodeling our entire home simply because of the mess and the chaos  in our small space.  And the majority of my spare moments have been spent with friends or on house projects - however, I have been able to snap a few photos of it all!

We have had a jam packed week and weekend and I'm pretty sure this upcoming week is going to look quite the same!

This past week we had two photo shoots - one with my dear friend Anna Lee from Blue Nest Photography and another one with Kristen Honeycutt (she did our wedding photos).  See, I bought this deal off Groupon for Christmas cards, and it sounded like a great deal, and it is, but then I noticed after purchasing, that the expiration date was November 16th or something.  Seriously?  That's like a whole 6 weeks before Christmas!  How can they do that?  Well, they did, and I contacted Anna to see if she would be kind enough to snap a photo or two of Peter and I.  And considering Anna is a photographer, asking her to to limit her photo taking to a photo or two is like asking her to limit her breathing.  Of course the woman was going to take more than two photos!  I mean the shutter speed on the camera is so fast that it takes only a few seconds to snap a few photos, and I suppose she wanted to make it worth her time.  We were so blessed by our time together in the rain with boots and umbrellas!

And the second shoot was LONG overdue!  We bought my parents a photography session for their 30th wedding anniversary, which was nearly 3.5 years ago.  Thank goodness that thing didn't expire!  It took ages to organize something that would work with all of us, but we finally found a day that worked and gathered at Gasworks for even more photos in the rain.  I can't wait to see the finished products for all of them!!

Saturday morning Peter and I took our first trip to Lowes, and we were there for HOURS.  I use to like that place, and now I'm not so sure.  I have been soo very indecisive lately, and the thought of having to make so many decisions in a short amount of time truly stresses me out.  So yes, I whined and complained and after being there for far longer than I wanted, we finally left with a new toilet, paint, tiles, and all sorts of little items.  However, one of the items we were searching for, a sink with a vanity, wasn't to be found, and they informed us that they didn't have any in all of Western Washington.  Seriously??  Hmm...what we were going to do?

The rest of Saturday was filled with time with friends at a bridal shower and at a friend's house for dinner!  We are so blessed by our beautiful community.  But, while I was gallivanting around town, my husband was tearing up our white bathroom tiles.

So Sunday morning we woke up and got to spend some time with the 3 year olds at church - love those kids!  And took off straight after church for Ikea on our sink expedition.  And Peter was really excited about going to Ikea (insert sarcasm here)!  We were on a mission for a sink that would fit in our small space in the bathroom, and once I saw it, I complained, alot!  I mean the sink was small - really small.  And it kind of reminded me of a sink on an airplane, and the vanity shelves were SO small you could barely store a curling iron on one.  So I was annoyed and irritated because my husband is on a mission to finish this bathroom in the next few days and this sink piece is an essential component.  And our options were extremely limited, and we didn't really have any other options.

Or did we?  After I complained ALOT, my husband decided to check Lowe's again for the ONE other sink that would fit in our space.  And guess what??  They said they had it!  So we ran out of Ikea as fast as we could, considering they said the had 3, and we were determined that one was going to be ours.  We got to the store, made a beeline for the bathroom vanities, and found just one on the shelf.  Are you kidding me??  We gladly placed that bad boy on our cart and took it on home.  Isn't it cute?  Just wait until you see it all put together!

And then after our sink expedition, I got together with some friend's for brunch - and I walked away with the cutest little onesie from my dear friend Mary! Isn't this the cutest?  She made it!  And some beer for my husband from my dear friend Jill.  And I came home to a bit of chaos, but I suppose that's expected right?  I mean where else are you suppose to put the slate tiles, the sink, the toilet and all the other goodies, well in the living room of course.  Where else would you put it?

Can't wait to do a big bathroom reveal!  It looks amazing - thanks to my husband and our dear friend Cristy!

xoxo,

Malia
