Oh, I have so many posts pending...and I figured I should just post a bunch of things in one go! So here goes. There are so many little things that have brought me joy lately, and I wanted to share some of them with you even if they are a few weeks old, better late than never right??
Look at the little things I made with some beautiful assistance! I used a sewing machine for the first time, and I truly should have put one on my Christmas list considering I don't own one, and it would be really fun to have. I made a little hat and a burp cloth, but let's be honest, I can only really take credit for the burb cloth considering I did ALL of that on my own - cut out the material and sewed the pieces together. EAsy peasy! I was so shocked by my abilities...and my mom even got a little teary eyed when I showed her my creations. Let it be known that I am 30 years old and I have NEVER EVER used a sewing machine - hard to believe I'm sure! So it's slightly reassuring to be able to take that off my I have never list, and now I know it's not something to fear.
I didn't make the lovely bevie in the middle, but my mom celebrated another year of life this past month, and we celebrated as a family, and Peter celebrated by consuming some fancy beverages that came in martini glasses. Oh I love that man! It seemed so strange seeing him with this glass in his hand vs. his regular beer glass. And I must admit, I was a little jealous!
And while downtown, we went and checked out the gingerbread houses at the Sheraton hotel! I love those things, and there aren't even THAT many and we were only there for like 15 minutes, but it's still so fun to see the creations people come up with and how they play it all out using candy and gingerbread. Pretty amazing if you ask me! One of them even had a draw bridge, and it's a fun tradition to have with the husband. As kids we would always stay a night in a hotel as a family, visit the gingerbread houses, go to a nice dinner, or do some shopping, and it's a little tradition I would love to continue with my own family.
And here I am at one of my many midwife appts...doing my glucose test! And guess what?? I don't have diabetes, but I do have low iron levels - so I have added an iron supplement to my daily pill regime. Lucky me! It wasn't nearly as terrible as I thought it would be. I just guzzled that stuff on down and before I knew it the bottle was empty. I was imagining this giant jug of nasty sweet stuff that I was going to have to force myself to get down, and I was pleasantly surprised!
Well that's all for now - I have loads more to share, but this will do!
Blessings to you all! Much love,
Malia
