The day has come...

And no, Jack is still in the hospital - the day has NOT come to take him home, although he is doing so good and weighed in at 4 lbs. 6 oz today, which is a BIG deal considering he weighed 4 lbs 2.5 oz yesterday!  Appears he is going through quite the growth spurt.  He still has his feeding tube in, but they are rotating feedings with a bottle and his tube.  You should see the way he chugs down his bottle - no wonder he's too tired for another one a few hours later.

But the day has come for me to finally say that I am now a proud owner of a smart phone!  And if I am honest, I think my husband is a little more excited than I am!  He couldn't wait to get his hands on it.  And he even suggested in the store that maybe he could get the new one and I could use his old one after he saw all the latest and greatest phones. Don't you worry I put my foot down!  I mean the husband has had a fancy phone for over a year now and I have written about this progression and my reluctance to possess a phone that is smart here and here.  And it has become a joke amongst many that I still have an old school flip phone.

But the day finally came a few days ago when I dropped my phone for the very last time and it came apart in two pieces, and the screen stopped working.  So I could turn the phone on and I could probably make a phone call or two with the numbers I had memorized by heart, but what good is that to me?

Please note this wasn't planned, but the timing simply was impeccable, especially since Peter said we could get me a new phone for Christmas.  However, we have been putting that off and trying to save as much as we can now considering our hospital bills are going to be so high!  But we decided the phone was worth it - so splurge we did.

So here it is...in all it's lovely glory!  Good thing I took a picture of the box considering I can't even remember which phone I have - I just know that it's the same as Peter's and you can tap them together to send videos, pictures, and other data things.  It's just like the commercials!!  Pretty cool - So watch out world... there is a new phone in town, a new instagramer, a new plan with unlimited texts and minutes, and a whole new way of living - this might take some getting use to.  One thing I do need is phone numbers...so send those my way when you can!!

much love,

Malia
