Little Buddy: Nine Months!

 your 9 month photo montage

I am getting worse and worse at posting your monthly updates, but I suppose better late than never right?  You will be 11 months in just a week, so I figured it really was time to post your 9 month post (8 month post here), especially since I had already taken a collection of photos.  But it was really hard to get photos for your 9 month photo shoot seeing as I can't seem to get many of you lying down.

You love to sit up these days and when I put you on your back you just roll over - most of the time.  Just like this.

I know I say this every single month, but it is just crazy to think about how small you once were.

Exhibit A.

So let's see, this past month we took you for your 9 month check up.  You weighed in at 18 lbs 10 ounces, and you are around 27 inches long, and your head is just big!  For your actual age, you are doing great in regards to the size department - you are in the 15th percentile for weight and the 35th percentile for height, and your head is just big!

You have been eating all sorts of food - you absolutely love to eat anything and everything.  So that's been a breeze.  And you really love to feed yourself - Mr. Independent.  However, you still aren't sleeping all that great.  You have one tooth, and another one coming in - so maybe you have been waking up in pain?  Who knows!  I know I sure don't have any answers.  You go to bed really easily, so we are thankful for that, really thankful for that, but you just wake up in the night.  You go back to bed really easily after you have been fed or cuddled, another thing I'm thankful for.  And you are just so sweet.

We took the Occupational Therapists advice and you have been scooting around on the hardwood floors - doing a bear crawl.  You are getting around pretty good, but we haven't really done any baby proofing.  We just watch you like a hawk!

This past month (September-October), you attended your first Husky game!  Go Dawgs!  We are starting you early as a Husky, and you have no other choice, but to bleed purple and gold.  You had a great time, and your frowny face isn't a true depiction of your experience!  Everyone around us was commenting on how good of a baby you were.  But you weren't a huge fan of the ear defenders - that smiley photo isn't a true depiction of your feelings toward those things on your head.  You kept pulling at them.  It was pretty funny!

What else?  Your dad celebrated 33 years of life at his favorite restaurant and Auntie Brianna babysat.   And you came out to cheer mom on as she ran a half marathon in Bellingham.

You have started to experience a bit of separation anxiety and you start to cry when one of us leaves the room, and you get really excited when one of us comes home! You definitely know who we are.  I bought you a munchkin duckie bath, and it has truly transformed your bath time experience.  You never want to get out.  And we had a passport photo taken of you for your first passport!  Think you were pretty excited about that - just means we are finally making the trip to Ireland for Christmas!  Yippee! Praying nothing stands in our way this time.

Jack - it still blows my mind just how big you have gotten.  It is such an honor to watch you grow and such a privilege to walk alongside you as you experience this crazy world.  I know it sounds so cliche, but time truly does go by so fast.

Your dad and I love you so much, and we feel so blessed to be home with you during the day!  Thank you little man for the joy you bring into our lives.  I love watching your dad care for you.  He is really good at making you laugh and I love how he knows you.  He knows your likes and your dislikes.  He knows your cries and what you need/want when you fuss.  He is so good with you, and he loves being your dad.  I am so thankful for him and his presence in our lives.  I couldn't do this without him - God really knew what He was doing when He brought the pair of us together as your dad is such a good partner for me.

We love you so much - and we praise God for your health and for allowing us the privilege of raising you!

Until next month,

Mom
