Mother's Day.

So all of us have Mothers right?  And I am sure all of us have celebrated those mothers in some way over the years.  I am sure we have bought her all sorts of gifts over the years ...some she may not have even wanted or needed.

I know Mother's Day is quickly approaching, and many of you are probably planners and have already purchased that special gift for Mother's Day.  But if you haven't, consider a gift that will make a difference - a gift that will change lives not only for your mother but also for another.

And then once you have considered that...please take the time to check out Children of the Nations Gift Catalogue, and if you are interested in microfinance, or know someone who is, consider donating to the Microfinance Fund in honor of your mother or another.  Or consider purchasing a Widow's Basket for the Widows Program in Malawi that I have written about on the blog HERE, and HERE, and HERE, and HERE (so is it obvious that I love writting about these widows?)

Or if you are feeling really adventurous and especially generous consider sponsoring a child in your mother's honor.  I have written about the power of sponsorship HERE.  Peter and I sponsored a child in honor of our wedding guests in leiu of favors and it was and still is a beautiful experience!  We had our guests write little notes and draw pictures on little sheets of paper and then we sent all of those to her little hands in Sierra Leone.  Our guests loved it!  It can be a fun project and program for the entire family and everyone can be involved in some way!

So consider these ideas - not just for Mother's Day, but maybe even for Father's Day, birthdays, anniversaries, graduation, etc, etc...I think you get the point!  Imagine the impact this gift could have on the life of another.  Pretty powerful isn't it?
